Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL) is a national oganisation advocating, supporting and promoting the interests of students' sports and physical activities.
There are about 250 000 university and polytechnic students in Finland. The Sports Federation aims to provide them all with opportunities for various physical activities. It cooperates with public administration, students' unions, sports secretaries and sport centres, Finnish Student Health Service, sports organisations and many others.
Students as members
The Finnish Student Sports Federation represents about 200 000 students in Finland.
Both SAMOK, Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences, and SYL, National Union of University Students in Finland are members of OLL.
The two unions, SAMOK and SYL, represent students in universities and universities of applied sciences in national level. SYL has 145 000 members in more than 20 universities. Student unions that belong to SAMOK have almost 50 000 members and they represent over 130 000 students.
The Finnish Student Sports Federation was founded in 1924.
International contacts
The Finnish Student Sports Federation is a member of International University Sports Federation (FISU), European University Sports Association (EUSA). Furthermore OLL cooperates with Nordic Sport Federations and student organizations in Baltic countries, especially with the ones in Estonia.
